Last weekend we went out to Long Island to pick pumpkins.

The weather was perfect!

We fell in love with these awesome wooden cutouts that were scattered around the patch. 

We want one!!!

Cutouts inspired by Disney's Haunted Mansion!

This vintage Haunted Mansion poster is a new addition to our happy haunt...we love it so much we think we might keep it up all year round!

Andrew was alone one night with absolutely nothing to do. He cut out and covered two of our framed pictures with these ghoulish portraits!

They are cut free hand from construction paper.
All it took was paper, scissors, glue and a bottle of wine!

These "grim grinning ghosts" were his inspiration.

Frames From The Living Dead.

We found these awesome vintage Halloween cutouts, that we absolutely fell in love with!  

Yes, we're gushing.  

We framed the cutouts with some ripped pages from random old books we found outside our apartment...sounds like the beginning of a horror movie.

We wanted some of the pages to look even older than they were.  First, we stained the paper with coffee and cinnamon then burnt the edges to complete the look! We did this same technique last year with our Potions and Lotion Bottles!

We had this dollar store trick-or-treat bag from last year that we cut out and framed!

We think the cutouts and the bag are a match made in Hell.

Terror-iums!

It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark...our spooky scenic terrariums! These dollar store terrariums are paired with awesome candles from our friend Jen at Burning Tears!

We found all of our festive finds from the dollar store, including the moss, skeletons and the wine glasses!  

We hot glued some moss, twigs and creepy small things onto a wide candle lid and then covered it with an upside down glass.  

And we finished it off with orange washi tape around the lids.

"Tastes like chicken!"

We couldn't just stop there!  

We also made a haunted cemetery in a open book.

We built our spooky scene of top of a piece of cardstock so it wouldn't ruin the book.
The tombstones are handmade from modeling clay.

Fall Branch Updo

We love crafts that can make it through a few seasons!

We transformed our Autumn Branches  into sparse dead branches.
We just plucked some leaves off and sloppily added some black paint!

Don't they look great with our Potion and Lotion Bottles from last year?!?

I'm walking in a spider web...of yarn!

Arachnophobia Attack!

This is an inexpensive way to give any room a huge eerie impact! 
We literally spent less than $3.00.

What you need to weave your web:
Yarn.
Scissors. 
Scotch Tape.
Spiders?

Make your frame:
Tape the ends of pieces of yarn to create an X.
Tape other crisscrossing lines or "spokes".

Create the spiral:
Tie a new piece of yarn on a spoke close to the center of the web. 
Start weaving the piece of yarn.
Over the spoke, loop it back under the same spoke and continue to the next spoke!
Over, under and around.

Eventually the piece of yarn will run out.  

Just tie off at the end and continue with a new piece of yarn.

It took a bit of trial and error to get it right but it's pretty easy to get the hang of it.

Keep the yarn taught.

Imperfections make the web more realistic and creepy.

Be the spider.
