Cha-cha-cha chia eggs.

Egg shells, chia seeds, soil, water and love.

Originally we wanted to make these with grass...we started saving our eggshells and got the potting soil, but we couldn't find small packets of grass seeds. Whomp whomp.
A week later while making a smoothie, we realized we had a ton of chia seeds right in front of us!!!!
Bye bye grass; hello free chia seeds!

In each egg we put a couple of spoonfuls of soil in with a hearty pinch of chia seeds.
We gave them lots of sunlight and kept the soil moist...yea baby.
It took about 3 days to start seeing sprouts.

Dennis thinks they look like dinosaur eggs! Roar!

Andrew thinks they make the perfect Easter addition!

Dinosaurs or bunnies?
Egg-cellent question.

  1. I like the chia seeds better, they look less like dudes with bad hair styles and more like little potted plants.

  2. I like them with the dinosaurs, but I guess this time of year they do make good Easter/Spring decor. Found you guys on the Pin Junkie's Friday link party!

  8. 'So cute! These would make GREAT pots for starting seeds for the garden, just crack the bottom as you move them outdoors! FREE pots that breakdown in the soil! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

I'd like to feature these at Tuesdays with a Twist Today! Congrats!
