Got wood?

These trees were inspired by the tree lot in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and those awesome trees in the claymation version of "Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer"!

In theory they are pretty easy...just time consuming!
First, we got a piece of wood and cut it into triangle tree shapes.
Using washi tape, we taped out our branches!

With acrylic paint, we painted our washi taped trees.

Once they were dry, we pealed off the tape!

For our snowy base, we stacked and carved insulating foam using a pairing knife and sand paper!
Such a mess...but totally worth it!

Giddy up, Donner!

Aw, look at the trees.

  2. These are so cute! Need to talk the Hubs into cutting out the shapes for me so I can make a set for our mantel.

  3. This is so clever! They totally remind me of the Charlie Brown tree lot! I'd love for you to share these trees at my Creative Ways Link Party that's live right now. Hope to see you there. Merry Christmas!
