Vintage Upcycled Love Box!

We were snowed in a couple of weeks ago and we decided to start purging!  We cleaned out most of our closets and tackled the dreaded craft corner...it's literally a corner of our apartment overtaken by craft supplies.  After hours of organizing we decided to get crafty...
We used craft scraps and our old iPhone box to make a little vintage shoe box diorama to help spread the love!

The letters are stamps from the dollar section at Target!

The love box!

All you need is love!

Red Hot Valentine!

Red hots are so hard to find around New York!
But when we do find them, we use them...somehow.

Alice wishes she had these in her wonderland!

Bottle Brush Love!

It didn't feel right putting away our Christmas decorations since it just started feeling like winter here in NY.
So we held on to some bottle brush trees and made them "lovely".

A lot of people have been dying bottle brush trees this past year...and we couldn't resist.
We think they look great for Valentine's Day!

We used neon pink food coloring to dye our trees! We kept some in longer than others so they'd each be unique.  They dyed in just minutes and they we're already white, so no need to bleach them!
Quickest project EVA!

No Valentine's Day tree is complete without a little sparkle!

Only you can prevent forest fires! Aren't they lovely!?

Long Distance Iced Tea!

As most of you know, Dennis is away till June.  We are both pretty used to the on and off distance, but it still sucks.

This is a spin on a traditional Long Island Iced Tea, it's damn tasty and strong enough to survive a Valentine's day alone!

This drink is tart, sweet and strong!!

1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce rum

1 ounce cherry juice
1 once pomegranate juice
1 ounce pineapple juice
1 ounce club soda/any clear soda would work
Big squeeze of lemon
Lemon peel

Pour everything into an ice filled shaker and shake that lonely aggression out!  Strain into a glass filled with ice and garnish with a lemon peel.

 Cheers, lovers!

Perfect pomegranate pretzel bark!

This tasty treat made us feel the LOVE!
Pops of sweet, salty and hints of bitterness.

-Dark chocolate
-Pomegranate seeds
-Pretzels
-Salt

First we double broiled the chocolate.
Spread it out on a parchment lined baking sheet.
We added the pretzels first then the pomegranate seeds...next time we will push the seeds in a bit more, some popped out when we broke up the bark.  No big deal.

Then we sprinkled on some salt and put it in the fridge for about 30 min.

After it was chilled we broke it up and devoured it!
It will last about 4-5 days in the fridge...but it was gone by the end of the day so we didn't have to worry about that.

A sweet treat for a sweetie.

Coasters make the table grow fonder.

These quirky coasters are a perfect cast of characters for the month of February.

There's Lincoln (who looks more Amish than presidential), Washington, sleepy or stoned Punxsutawney Phil, and a Valentine's Day heart!

These guys were cut out craft-day afternoon filled with wine and no regrets.

We added a pop of color to the back with some more cardstock.

Mod Podge-will you be our Valentine?

Happy February!
