Minute Mums.

Happy fall!
This year we jumped right into decorating for Halloween, but we didn't want to "leaf" the first day of fall behind.  After all, this day is the kick off to our favorite months ahead!

We turned scrap crepe paper into festive fall mini mums!

First we fringed the crepe paper and then rolled them up to create our mums!
We used floral wire and tape to create the stems.

Mums the word!

Espresso Estamp-o.

Coffee is definitely a daily ritual in our apartment.
We make all different types of coffee; Cuban espresso, drip for a percolator, cold brewed...
This easy espresso maker print is a perfect addition to our coffee lovers kitchen.

To make the print you need to make a stamp!  We made one out of a leftover piece of styrofoam. This is a total elementary school craft, but the end product looks far from juvenile.

Step 1-Draw or print out an image you'd like to use for your stamp.
Step 2-With a pencil trace through the image onto a piece of styrofoam.

Step 3- Cut out the image with a blade.
Step 4- Glue the styrofoam on a piece of cardboard to make it a sturdy stamp!

Step 5-Paint the stamp, press down firmly and repeat!

Love is Love.

We are so shocked and saddened with the horrifying events that happened this weekend in Orlando.
We are sending out our love to anyone who needs it.

This is one of our favorite shirts we stretched over a canvas to spread some love.
We've made T-shirt canvases before, but today this shirt was speaking to us.
Spread some love today!

You guys!!!!  The Muppets are coming back!!!!

We couldn't have thought of a better way to celebrate than making this canvas art out of our favorite Muppet t-shirt!

This is pretty simple and a great way to hold onto your favorite shirts you can't part with.

It's time to play the music!

Notebooks from Target and lettering from Home Depot!

We used Washi tape to help keep the letters straight.

Want to make those pencils?

Bold Summer Candle!

It's already August.
Summer will soon be an over heated memory.
Fall decorations are popping up in the stores...and as awful as that is, it's hard not to get excited!
To keep us in the "now" we made this summer reminder.

We got the lettering from Home Depot.
We used washi tape to keep the lettering straight.
It's easiest if you put your first letter down then tape your lines to get the sizing correct.

Summer days drifting away!

Mosaic my pot.

Does anyone else have a hard time committing?
We found this great Snake Plant, it's low maintenance and a great size...we just can't commit to a pot for it.
Planting and potting in an apartment is messy.
So once this baby is repotted, it's staying there!

We were told that our plant would do just fine in the plastic pot it came in...so we're holding off on the perfect pot and making good use of what we have!

The plastic pot is wrapped with a piece of cardstock cut down to size...truth is the back half of the pot isn't wrapped...but no one ever sees the back...so....

We made a simple gray geometric triangle pattern with random pops of blue.

Can ya dig it?!

Everyone Poops.

Light a match!

We decorated match boxes for those "ooops-poops" moments.

We made the emoji poop stamp out of an eraser!

...added googly eyes!

Keeping it classy...one poop at a time.

Wrapped Yarn Vase.

This started out as a Mother's Day gift idea with both our Moms in mind, they both are incredible with yarn.  Well, the finished product turned out to be a little less "them" and a little more "us".
Maybe it was the yarn we chose? Either way, we love the outcome.
Happy Mother's day, Moms!  We got you cards!

It seems pretty self explanatory, wrap yarn around vase.  But...it's a little trickier than that.

Initially, you have to tape as you go around the vase.  The vase does not hold the yarn in place without the help of tape.  It was a bit of a struggle sometimes, but it came together!...with a little patience.  (we got our vase from CB2)

Wrap and tape. Wrap and tape.
Once the vase is covered then keep on wrapping without tape.  The yarn will start to hold in place and you can start shaping by wrapping more yarn.  At the mouth of the vase we ended up hot gluing the yarn in place because it kept unraveling.  Tuck in the yarn end and enjoy!

And cats love it too!

Color me Beautiful.

Happy Earth Week!  Happy Earth Day!
Celebrating by using as little electricity as possible (lots of candles) and crafting out of recyclables...we all have to do our part.

Can you paint with all the colors...on some traaaaaash?
